The built-in control box: same benefit as 2-wire, bigger motor
Higher-output submersible pumps are frequently 3-wire designs that need a separate control box mounted at the surface — extra hardware, extra wiring, and one more enclosure that can fail or need service near the pressure tank. Hallmark builds the starting circuitry into the MA0414X-7A itself, so there is nothing extra to mount. That is the same practical simplification a 2-wire economy pump offers, carried up into a 1 HP motor. Neither pump is the universally better buy — they are sized for different demand tiers. Buying the Hallmark for a low-demand single-bath home pays for capacity you will not use; buying a Red Lion economy pump for a high-demand household will leave it undersized against real peak draw.
